Artist's Statement, Curriculum Vitae

Working in wood and/or mixed media, I create sculptural images that reflect my continual fascination with modern architecture and the human figure. My new series of work entitled Homeless People are sculptural collages. Mixing geometric shapes from cut up pictures, I create layers of color that take on a human like figure. This body of work pays homage to those unfortunate souls who have become homeless due to natural disasters caused by environmental factors.

In my Skyscrapers series, I use wood with a denticulate like pattern to create structural images that resemble human characters. Some of these characters then become sculptural studies for larger-scale works.
